MARKET COMMENTARY

(Feb-22-2019 08:50)
Indian benchmark indices may open lower on Friday taking cues from Asian peers . Concerns about world economic growth following weak economic data from both US and Europe are likely to weigh. Back here, stock-specific action, crude oil prices and movement of rupee against the US dollar will also play a key role. Oil prices fell on Friday after the United States reported its crude output hit a record 12 million barrels per day (bpd), undermining efforts by Middle East dominated producer club OPEC to withhold supply and tighten global markets. The rupee skidded by 11 paise to close at 71.24 against the US dollar Thursday as rising oil prices and a strengthening greenback. Back home, bearish trends in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for February delivery, were trading at 10,784.50 low 29.00 by or 0.27 per cent, at 11:02 AM, Singapore Time, also indicated a negative start for local bourses.
