The ministry of Commerce and Industry disclosed the data of India's wholesale inflation, as measured by the Wholesale Price Index (WPI), and it has been slipped to 3.07 per cent in April, as against 3.18 per cent in March.
As per the report, wholesale inflation rate was 3.62 per cent for the same period a year ago.
The report further says, the inflation in primary articles, that has a weightage of 22.62 per cent, rose to 6.50 per cent in April from 5.07 per cent in the previous month and inflation in food rose to 7.37 per cent in April from 5.68 per cent in March.
As per the calculation in non-food articles for April, they rose to 5.23 per cent from 2.83 per cent in March. Crude changed to 2.48 per cent in April from 5.14 per cent in the previous month.
The calculation shows that the prices of fuel and power fell to 3.84 per cent in April from 5.41 per cent in March and for petrol, it fell to 1.74 per cent from 1.78 per cent in March.

The govt calculation showed that India's retail inflation stood at 2.92 per cent in April, higher than 2.86 per cent in March.
