PNB jumps on hopes of recovery from NPAs 11/06/2018 12:05

Shares of Punjab National Bank soared nearly 5 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange after fraud hit state-run lender said that it expects to recover Rs 8,000 crore from bad loans in the first quarter of the current fiscal.

Boosted by the development, stocks of the bank gained as much as 4.70 per cent and touched an intra-day high of Rs 94.65 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

In a similar trend, shares of the lender were trading 3.98 per cent higher at Rs 94.05 apiece on the National Stock Exchange.

Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 35,609.13, up 165.46 points, or 0.47 per cent at 11:50 hours.
